Are YOU a Self-Assassin

Are you denying yourself your rightful place in this world? Do you have talents that you are not using or under-utilizing? Do you OFTEN manage to find ways to sell yourself short? Are you a self-assassin?

A common but little spoken about method of self-denial is to leave things undone. By that I mean that you never seem to finish anything off. You flit from one project to the next leaving everything 95% complete. It is a common trait.

So, how does one learn to finish off jobs that are started?

First, understand this - you cannot assume ownership (in your own mind) for anything that is only partially done. By leaving something incomplete you are activating your prerogative to excuse yourself from its possible failure.

In other words, by leaving a project undone you don't have to face the prospect of it not succeeding. However, in doing this are you not already failing?

How can you overcome this?

Try to create for yourself a task chart. Before you commence any more projects and put them, too, on what we conveniently call the "back-burner," make a list of everything that you have started but not finished.

Do not allow yourself to start anything new until you are able to remove something from the list by completing it. For instance, let's say that you have seven things that you have started but not quite finished. And you have this great idea for a NEW project. Set yourself the goal of finishing off an old project BEFORE you allow yourself to start a new one.

It's OK to have many projects that you are working on. It allows you to refresh yourself and your ideas by swapping from one to another. However, if the list of UNFINISHED projects just keeps getting longer and longer then you will NEVER achieve success with any of them.

Remember, your REWARD for finishing an older project off will be to allow yourself to start something new. Don't be a self-assassin. Move some of those 95% done jobs up to 100%.
